Another summer has come to an end. The last car has driven away, and our staff are all packed up!
It always goes by so fast, and I’m so thankful to God for sustaining us once again. He gave us amazing campers and staff, great weather, and safety throughout the summer. We are blessed!
The picture above shows a field that looks pretty unremarkable—but if you knew what happened underneath it, you would be amazed. Our soccer field septic system has been completely replaced! This is the first step in a larger plan that will allow us to expand our Health Hut in main camp and, eventually, build staff family housing where the current Health Hut now stands.
But you wouldn’t know any of that just by looking at the field. It’s unremarkable. It’s not glamorous. But the work was quite expensive—and absolutely essential.
So much of our spiritual lives can be like this: unseen, internal, costly, and essential. The things we can change on the outside—our smile, our hair, our appearance—can sometimes seem more important. But we know that the work of the Holy Spirit happens internally. It is deep, transformative, and sometimes messy.
Would you join me in praying for the campers and staff who were impacted by Camp Cedarbrook this summer? Pray that the work God began in them, and the things He stirred in their hearts, would take root in their “real lives” outside of camp. Pray that God would continue to pursue them and that they would continue to seek His face.
Our theme verse this summer was, “Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.” And here we are, rejoicing at the end of a wonderful summer in which God has once again shown Himself to be our faithful and good Shepherd.
I look forward to sharing more updates, stories, and numbers with you next month. Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and support throughout this summer. We are so grateful.
In Christ,
