My son Myles recently described December as a very “busy and fun” month — and even at six years old, he gets it! This time of year, my mailbox, inbox, calendar, and shopping carts all seem to fill up as we prepare for and celebrate the season.
Yet in the midst of the bustle, I often find myself wondering: Aren’t I supposed to be slowing down and making room for Jesus? What happened to Advent — to waiting, watching, and creating space for His presence? So much of modern life is built on getting things instantly (or at least in two days — with free shipping, of course).
One of the things I’m most grateful for at Camp Cedarbrook is the ministry of slowing down: giving campers and staff a place to breathe, reflect, and truly hear God’s voice. I’m asking the Lord to grant me some of that stillness in this very busy and fun season, and I’m praying the same for you.
Camper registration opened December 1. As we look ahead to summer, we’re excited to welcome campers back into that sacred space — a place where they can step away from the noise and encounter God in meaningful ways. There is still space in most sessions, though several programs are beginning to fill. Be sure to register before January 1 to receive our 2025 rate.
And speaking of full mailboxes — did you receive our year-end letter? If it got lost in the holiday shuffle, you can find a digital version here. As you consider your year-end giving, I hope you’ll include Cedarbrook. Your generosity directly strengthens our ministry, and we are deeply grateful for your partnership.
In Christ,
