Another summer is in the books! This marks my third summer as director and our 53rd summer as a camping ministry for girls.
God is very much at work through the summer camp experience, and we were thankful to be a part of it! Here are some highlights:
- 135 new campers
- Week 6 returned!
- 17 LEADS (formerly CILT 1)
- 6 CILTs who all graduated and joined staff
- 21 campers went on wilderness trips
- 32 girls accepted Christ
In addition to our summer camp program, we had Mother/Daughter and Father/Daughter retreats as well as our Alumnae Weekend, with former director Nancy “Wally” Halliday as our speaker.
And the ministry is growing! I am pleased to report that we had most camper weeks since 2009! This is truly encouraging to me as a director and to our ministry as we seek to reach girls for Jesus through the wilderness camping experience. Girls are being impacted by being pushed out of their comfort zone and discipled in a Christian community.
I look forward to sharing more throughout the year about how God is working through Camp Cedarbrook.
Take a look below at some of the fun we had this summer!
Amy “Ellie” Culhane is the Director of Camp Cedarbrook in the Adirondacks. She started as a Pathfinder camper and finished Camper-in-Leadership Training in 2002. When she’s not at camp, she lives with her husband and son in Illinois.
