If you’ve been at camp at any point in the past three years, you may have seen Bill Hartmann working hard as a maintenance volunteer. Last year, he joined the camp Board of Directors. Meet Bill!
What is your history with Camp Cedarbrook?
I was a camper and then a staff member at Northern Frontier Camp for over 25 years and have seen in my own life the life changing power of Christian camps. As a young person, I got to see godly Christians living their lives for Jesus Christ, and this had a huge influence on my life. For the past three years, I have been a volunteer at Camp Cedarbrook working on camp maintenance.
Why did you want to serve on the camp board?
I wanted to serve on the camp board in the hopes that I can be part of helping camp to run smoothly. The Bible says that there is wisdom in many counselors. It is my hope that I can be part of guiding Camp Cedarbrook in a way that maintains the rustic wilderness experience and furthers the kingdom of God.
What is your current occupation (when you’re not at camp!)?
I have been teaching for the past 18 years. I teach 6th Grade science in Rockaway Township, NJ .
What is your favorite camp memory?
My favorite camp memory is being at the campfire service, and watching the sun set as we sang songs and heard a story.
What are some interesting or fun facts about yourself?
I have been married for 11 years to my lovely and talented wife Mary Anne. We live in an old Victorian House in Franklin, NJ. I have been a member of the Freedom Church in Oakridge, NJ, for over 20 years.
