One of the greatest things about Camp Cedarbrook is our community. We value living in a Christ-centered community so much that it is instilled into everything we do — even how we eat our meals (family style)! Our community keeps campers and staff coming back and it doesn’t end when we leave 59 Davignon Road. One way I know this is through the power of our Cedarbrook alumni.
Cedarbrook alumni range from campers from the first summer in 1966 to our most recent summer staff team. Anyone who has been impacted by Camp Cedarbrook/Cherith — as a camper, staff, volunteer, parent or grandparent — is part of our wonderful alumni family!
Many of our alumni consider Cedarbrook an institution that had a lasting impact on them. My former college president would call it a “thumbprint institution” – one that leaves its mark on you. I also know that our alumni want to see Cedarbrook thrive and stay true to its mission to reach and disciple girls for Jesus.
Did you know that as an alumnus of Camp Cedarbrook, you can help us remain a thumbprint institution and you can help us grow our impact?
But I live so far away! I’m really busy. Camp was great, but I don’t have any daughters to send.
I hear you and I’m here to offer some ways you (yes, you!) can still be involved with Camp Cedarbrook today.
Camp needs your prayers. Every day! We are working year-round to get ready for camp and could not do it without the prayers of our amazing cloud of witnesses. Pray for safety, wisdom, staff, and campers. Pray for the property and for legislation that could impact camp. Check out our prayer calendar for specifics each month or contact me.
Most people hear about camp through word-of-mouth. Help us find new campers – talk about Cedarbrook with families in your network. Your testimony is worth more than anything we put out. Help us find staff – each summer we need close to 50 staff to make camp happen. This includes counselors, activity staff, and support staff (kitchen, maintenance, office, health services). A summer working at camp can change your life just as much (I might argue, more) as being a camper!
Every dollar makes a difference. Gifts to Camp Cedarbrook are tax-deductible and do not go to waste. You are directly investing in kingdom work to reach more girls for Jesus. Setting up a monthly gift online is not only easy, it helps us plan our finances and cash flow. Camp is blessed by generous donors and we need to grow this support in order to grow our impact. Do you have a gently used van you want to give to camp? Or special skills we need (e.g., carpentry)? Contact me!
Come to Alumni Weekend (June 12-14) this year! It’s a great way to connect with alumni, our current staff and camp. Share camp with your family and visit the place that had a major impact on your life.
Volunteer at camp this summer! Work weekends are a great opportunity to serve and bless camp. You can also come during the summer or even work as paid staff. Contact me for more details.
Please consider what level of involvement you want to have with Camp Cedarbrook as one of our amazing alumni. Exciting things are happening at Camp Cedarbrook. We want to grow our impact for God’s kingdom and we’re stronger with you!
