Today’s game is one in which you can use your creative thinking skills! In bigger and better, you’ll need teams of any size that all start with the same valueless object. At camp, we usually use a stick or a rock. The team’s goal is to trade their object for something slightly better and slightly better until they end with something much bigger or better than what they began with.
For example, a stick could fairly easily be traded for something like a partially used pencil or a lollipop or a penny. That, in turn, could be traded with someone for a pen or a candy bar, which could be traded for a candle or a box of matches, etc. etc. At camp, we usually offer to trade back at the end (which means that bigger and better items come about fairly readily).
At the end of the game (a pre-specified time to meet back at the original location), each team presents their final item to a panel of judges who decide which is the biggest or best item and crown the winner. We’ve had final items including ponies, rowboats, and golf carts.
What’s the best thing you’ve gotten in bigger or better?
